AIR CADET LEAGUE OF CANADA
LIGUE DES CADETS DE L’AIR DU CANADA
August 31, 2026
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Together, We Can Elevate the Air Cadet Experience
We are reaching out to invite you to support the incredible journey your cadet is undertaking as a member of our local Air Cadet Squadron. Your involvement—whether through your time, your resources, or both—can make a meaningful difference in shaping the future of this extraordinary program.
A Proud Tradition of Youth Development
For over 85 years, the Air Cadet Program has helped thousands of young Canadians develop leadership, citizenship, and aviation-related skills. This nationally celebrated program is a unique association between the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Air Cadet League of Canada—a registered non-profit organization made up of dedicated volunteers across the country.
Locally, our Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) supports this mission by enhancing the training and development opportunities available to our cadets. Through fundraising, volunteer coordination, and community outreach, the SSC ensures that every cadet has access to the best possible experience.
Why We Need Your Support
While the CAF covers most of the core program costs, several key components—such as additional programming, facility rentals, transportation, and specialized equipment—must be funded by the SSC. These extras help transform a good experience into an exceptional one.
The Air Cadet League of Canada also owns and maintains a national fleet of 79 gliders and 33 tow aircraft, allowing cadets the opportunity to explore the world of aviation firsthand. Furthermore, thanks to generous donors, the League provides over $100,000 in scholarships annually to deserving cadets pursuing post-secondary education.
How You Can Help
We invite you to join us in supporting your cadet’s squadron by:
• Becoming a volunteer with the SSC to help organize and support local events and operations.
• Making a financial contribution—no amount is too small, and every dollar directly supports cadet programming.
Your support is not required for your child’s participation in the program, but it is deeply appreciated. With your help, we can continue to offer the kind of enriching experiences that help our youth thrive.
Thank You
Thank you for being part of this important journey. Your involvement helps sustain one of the most respected youth development programs in the world. Together, we can continue to build confident, capable, and community-minded young leaders.
Sincerely,
Jacquie Pepper-Journal
President
